Deadline is reporting that Scott Rosenberg (who wrote Con Air, Pain & Gain and Gone in 60 Seconds), will be penning the upcoming Jumanji remake for Sony slated to drop on Christmas Day 2016. Despite the fact that reactions to the announcement to remake Jumanji in the wake of Robin Williams’ passing Sony is determined to go ahead with the project. Filming will begin early next year on the film that is supposed to be as much a re-imagination as a remake of the 1995 original movie. When auteur George Miller spoke with Digital Spy about the future of his Mad Max film franchise he gave a vague answer as to whether or not Charlize Theron’s breakout character Furiosa will be accompanying Max: “I’m not sure, is the answer,” Miller said. “She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. Executive producer and writer of Gotham, John Stephens, teased the fate of not-the-Joker Jerome during the show’s panel at this weekend’s New York Comic Con. The character (played by actor Cameron Monaghan), had been seemingly killed off during last week’s episode, leaving Gotham fans with the distinct impression that he would not be returning.
