Eliza Dushku has taken command of Catwoman and she’s not about to give her back. The star of Dollhouse and Tru Calling, and a vital part of the amazing Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast, provided the voice of Selina Kyle/Catwoman for Batman: Year One, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies. A few short months later, Dushku was quick to accept a return to the role as the title character of the DC Showcase animated short Catwoman.

The New York Times is reporting that DC Comics has struck a deal with Big G (you know the company that makes Trix, Lucky Charms, and Golden Grahams) to put comic books in cereal boxes.
Sometimes, just sometimes, we tend to shift our gaze to women dressed in revealing clothing, or less. This one is for the ladies who want to see some hunky men. Henry Cavill was spotted on the set of The Man of Steel movie running around in the rain shirtless.
Or – “Batwoman Stole Most Of Her Old Look Anyway…” I think that the cover of issue #2 has hit on what has been bothering me about this relaunched character: Barbara Gordon, while essentially the same, has been considerably de-aged conceptually. It’s nearly impossible to imagine the mid-30ish Oracle, a former Congresswoman and a match for Bruce Wayne himself in the shoes that the first issue put her. This cover shows a young woman of maybe 25 years of age, and with that realization, something clicked in my head, putting issue #1 in a whole new light. Will #2 give…
Even though it is October, DC continues to roll out new number one issues. Helena Bertinelli (or is it?) gets the relaunch treatment this month, and we don’t want to leave anyone behind in our New 52 coverage.
As mentioned previously, expect to see a slew of new writers announced on DC books at the New York Comic Con – DC has announced that Ann Nocenti is taking over writing duties for Green Arrow beginning with issue #7.
DC Comics has announced that the New 52 paid off big time for the company, selling more than 5 million comic books in a six week time period. That’s a lot of books, and following the release of the Top 300 Comics for September 2011 chart, it makes us wonder how many books were actually sold…
Press Release Best-selling comic book and graphic novel publisher DC Entertainment has secured the worldwide rights to adapt the international phenomenon and best-selling Millennium Trilogy novels into graphic novels. DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint will work with the estate of Stieg Larsson and Hedlund Literary Agency to adapt the books. The announcement brings together two publishing powerhouses just in time for the Frankfurt Book Fair and New York Comic-Con.
DC made a bit of noise when it announced that Justice League of America would be available in a print/digital combo pack for a dollar over the cover price. The good thing for collectors is they can get the precious print copy to bag and board for future monetary gain, all while reading the digital version to their heart’s content. Two more comics are now joining that offer.
DC Comics has announced that Marc Bernardin has been hired as the ongoing writer for Static Shock. Bernardin’s duties begin with issue #7. Scott McDaniel will continue as the artist on the series.
Press Release Eliza Dushku reprises Batman: Year One role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in 15-minute short; Animation guru Bruce Timm, nine-time Emmy-winning dialogue director Andrea Romano and fan favorite voice of Batman Kevin Conroy to also discuss upcoming Justice League: Doom.
Remember when G4TV and Playboy Playmate Sara Jean Underwood appeared as Bustice on Attack of the Show? A lot of people do (mostly men, mostly single), and her character seems to be popular enough that G4TV brought the character back in a brand new bit of comedy gold. But this time the sexy superhero is not alone, she’s brought Power Girl along to shake things up.
Alex Rocco, best known for his role as gangster Moe Greene in The Godfather, returns to his mobster roots as Carmine Falcone in Batman: Year One, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies. The appearance in a Dark Knight-related project brings Rocco’s 44-year career full circle. The Massachusetts-born actor, who was once an adjunct member of Boston’s Winter Hill Gang, got his first on-screen role in the 1960s Batman television series.
