Amazon Studios The Rings of Power is here. The Second season is on its way. We want all Spoilerites to have the best viewing experience possible and have the widest knowledge base about the Second Age of Middle-Earth. This is a weekly Let’s Get Nerdy article series highlighting a different piece of Tolkien I think you need to know about!
This post contains potential spoilers for The Rings of Power’s second season. At the time of writing these are simply rumours, but if you may want to avoid spoilers come back later and see if I was right!
In past articles I have answered the question:
Spoilerite, you may remember from last week’s Let’s Get Nerdy feature where I wrote about the New Clip from the Upcoming Tales of the Shire Game Released on Wednesday morning. Later that same morning, about two hours after I summarized some of the fanbases excitements and frustrations for what is now colloquially referred to as “the cozy hobbit game” the official Tales of the Shire Twitter account shared this [slightly]longer clip of the highly anticipated video game:
Tales of the Shire on Twitter: “Attention, dear Hobbits! Mark your calendars for our #TalesoftheShire trailer on April 22! pic.twitter.com/aZXvmR8qUs / Twitter”

The logical part of you mind may be asking:
“Is this really longer?”
“Does this clip show anything more?”
“What is new here?”
… but allow me to assure you social media exploded and the fandom was well-pleased!
Twitter user @Boogie_Snacks had my preferred comment on the original post:
BoogieSnacks on Twitter: “I AM READY / Twitter”
I AM READY
We were treated to a beautiful, stylized drone-esque sweeping shots of the eponymous Shire complete with the iconic hobbit holes with their immediately recognizable round doors – none of which appear to be the right style or colour to be Bag End itself. Personally, I am crossing my fingers it will appear soon or we will have some way to access it. Not yet sure when the game is set my bad pitch is: join the Sackville-Bagginses in stealing from Bilbo and/or Frodo?
There are no characters and no animals visible in this additional footage, which is what I am most looking forward to learning more about. I’m assuming we’ll have more on that next week …
… because the most important part of this entire post is the line:
#TalesoftheShire trailer on April 22!
So, rest assured, faithful Spoilerites, I’ll be back next week with a full breakdown of all the most important and exciting details from the Tales of the Shire full trailer!
