9) CAPTAIN AMERICA (Captain Steven Rogers)
Okay, perhaps I should have said “who aren’t the Steve Rogers of the modern day.” Though sharing a name with our modern Sentinel Of Liberty, this Captain is his namesake from the Revolutionary War era, briefly active against the forces of William Taurey at the end of the 18th century. First seen in a Bicentennial issue of Captain America circa 1976, modern Steve’s pride in his ancestor was the source of some friction between Captain America and The Falcon over whether or not he would have been a slave owner. No Bucky/Winter Soldier run of Cap? Was this due to it being too dark of a run of Cap?
