With Fox working on a new comic book series based on the DC/Vertigo title, Lucifer, the channel needs a lead actor, and they’ve found their devil in Tom Ellis.
In the pilot, after growing bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.
Oddly this sounds a bit like the series from the late ’90s called Brimstone, but with Lucifer taking on the role of Detective Stone.
Ellis was most recently seen on the television series Miranda.
