Or – “To All Things, An Ending…” As with any year, 2011 has it’s detractors and it’s proponents, but for me, it was kind of a wash. Not as venomous as 2006, nor as wonderful as 2004, the year before the Mayan end-times but after we make contact is like a 70’s George Carlin guest-host episode of the ‘Tonight Show.’ Sure, it’s two things you like, but neither is quite at its best. Still, the end of ’11 has gotten me thinking how most comics don’t actually GET one, and how a really well-crafted ending is an ever rarer beast…
Or – “Roger Daltrey Called: The Kids Are Definitely NOT Alright…” The first issue of this miniseries came out in 2010, and this penultimate issue is actually dated 2012. While I like the fact that the bi-monthly status allows the creators to work to their usual standards, I’m bothered by the continuity of how this all breaks down. After all, this story began before Schism, before Fear Itself, before Spider-Island, before even the end of the Brightest Day, much less the new DCU. A few weeks ago we reported that Alan Taylor of Game of Thrones fame was in negotiations to direct the Thor sequel following the exit of Patty Jenkins. Over the weekend, that rumor became fact, and it looks like Thor 2 is back on track to arrive in theaters on November 15, 2013. via Deadline

Disney and Marvel studios have updated their movie releases. Though The Avengers movie will still be released on May 4, 2012, the studio has upgraded the movie from 2D to 3D. As far as I’m aware, the movie wasn’t shot in 3D, which means a lot of post production wiz-bangery is going to happen, and we’ve all seen how successful that has been.
