DISCUSSION
BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL OMNIBUS VOLUME 1
A cursed, seemingly immortal warrior aids a young girl in her quest for revenge. Samura’s massive manga series spawned an anime run, a spinoff novel, an art book, and a live-action film! Intense and audacious, Blade takes period samurai action and deftly combines it with a modernist street idiom to create a style and mood like no other work of graphic fiction! Collects volumes 1–3.

Blade Of The Immortal, probably my favorite comic book series of all time (Lone Wolf & Cub as a close second) and the reason I got into manga. Its very much a conventional battle manga, but it has so many layers to it and clever character development that its actually interesting and it avoids a lot of manga and anime tropes. There are some changes and inconsistency in the art and story takes quite a bit of detours, probably because story and art is done by a single guy and he did it over almost 20 years. I love it anyway.
Translated series ended in spring of 2015 and its 31 volumes, so you can pick up the whole thing now.
What I want from Kevin Conroy in live action is for him to overdub the actor doing what always ends up basically being just a weak Kevin Conroy impersonation.
(I’d far rather it be Ibbott than DiDio in Scooby)
