The debut of the West Coast Avengers came right at the dawn of my comic book obsession, which means that I bought the miniseries off the stands and greatly enjoyed it. When they launched the ongoing series, though, the choice of artist made it pretty clear that it was not considered a top-tier book, and things quickly got weird. There was a battle Werewolf By Night, something about an evolved Gila Monster, Wonder Man in the fugliest superhero costume in history… Heck, even the high points of the series were odd, including the dissolution of Hawkeye & Mockingbird’s marriage, The Vision’s disassembly and a third-level of time-travel wackiness introduced to an old FF story, leading to today’s California query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) suddenly remembered that this is a question about the upcoming WCA revival featuring Gwenpool, America Chavez, the Hawkeyes and Quentin Quire, asking: On a scale of 1 – 10, what’s your general excitement level about the new West Coast Avengers?

Probably 4. I’m interested, but I’m not exactly excited. This could very well change once I actually read the title, but for now it is more of a casual interest in seeing what they have planned.
While WCA is my favorite Avengers book of days gone by, there isn’t enough here to invoke nostalgia so this is basically just another wacky team book. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
WCA was fun but had some dark themes and i doubt that’s what this is. If i see hints of the following, my interest will rise:
–Firebird/Thing
–Tigra or Living Lightning (he just got showcased so why not)
–Wanda & Vision’s kids (Kate is there so maybe) vs. Master P.
–Hank Pym and the Gadget Jumpsuit which is my favorite persona of his)
I’m at a 5 since I’ve never read a WCA book. I am interested in what will be different from the other Avengers.
I’m an 8. I’m really missing the USAvengers which was my favourite Marvel book of recent years. This looks to be my best bet for some more offbeat heroes doing Avengers-y things
Right in the middle of 5. I’m at “wait and see” level of excitement.
