    The Superman analogue of Earth-36 (which is itself an analogue of the universe shown in Big Bang Comics, making him an analogue of an analogue of the original Man Of Steel), Optiman fell in battle defending the universe against Superdoomsday.  Given that the Supermen of the multiverse are prone to making The Ultimate Sacrifice™, and that our Man Of Tomorrow also died in battle with a Doomsday and got better, hope still springs that Optiman might rise again (at least if Doc Shaner or I have anything to say about it.)

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now...       The Executioner, that was great stuff. Being Nordic myself, I feel this Thor run is probably the best that character will ever get.
