    Greg Willis was a sharp young hero who had his whole life ahead of him when he was captured and spirited away to Battleworld.  When The Stranger, a cosmic being who had built Battleworld, set out to destroy the planet and all the heroes therein contained, Gravity sacrificed his life to save the other heroes and end the Stranger’s threat.  He was later resurrected (and was briefly The Protector Of The Universe, with editorial planning at one point to make him the new Captain Marvel), but has never found the level of success that he did at the point where he made The Ultimate Sacrifice™.

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

      The Executioner, that was great stuff. Being Nordic myself, I feel this Thor run is probably the best that character will ever get.
