On occasion, a hero is called to make The Ultimate Sacrifice™, giving their own life for a greater good.
And sometimes, just sometimes, that hero is the only thing standing between survival and universal Armageddon… Welcome to Ten Things!
Whooshman-Bicarbonate Films, in conjunction with ‘An Amateur Comics Historian’ and Pre-Crisis Barry Allen, Presents:
TEN SUPERS WHO MAD THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE™!
10) THE MIMIC
Hailing from the alternative world known as Earth-12, Calvin Rankin’s life was far different from his Earth-616 counterpart. After a long tour of duty with The Exiles, repairing the time stream and various alternate realities, The Mimic was possessed by Proteus, a reality-warping mutant madman. Unlike any other mind Proteus ever possessed, though, Calvin was able to resist his possession, even influencing his mind enough to manipulate Proteus into combat with another superhuman, keeping Proteus from possessing the most powerful being in that universe, but finally giving his own life (#TheUltimateSacrifice™) to do so.

“This moment” being Gjallerbru. Sorry.
The Executioner, that was great stuff. Being Nordic myself, I feel this Thor run is probably the best that character will ever get.
