Got to agree that this movie was kind of a waste. It’s pretty much the final nail in the coffin for R franchises that are turned PG-13 to “appeal to a bigger audience.” If this movie could have been a little more intense (not necessarily more overtly violent) from an R could have helped to actually keep a little more attention.
After Fury Road, seeing real cars smashing into each other, the bus, and helicopters blatant CGI here is just a bore. More action movies should be taking cues from George Miller, and try to fight a bit against studio notes, which this movie felt like.
For R rated films not making as much money (not specific to this film,) but what about T2, Die Hard, Rambo 2, The Rock, Lethal Weapon 2 being pretty much big business?
That was then, this is now.
