Reboots and re-imaginings are all that rage in Hollywood, due to the generally high box office numbers they generate, so why shouldn’t MTV show Daria have a new chance at life?
Important note: this trailer was actually created by College Humor and is in no way an indicator for an actual Daria film being produced. But, maybe if this goes over well it will get picked up. Crazier things have happened.

I liked it.
If they ever created a real movie, it couldn’t be any worse than the Archie reunion movie from 1990.

Actually, Suburgatory had similarity to Daria.
Possibly because nobody ever heard of it? I know I haven’t.
It was a late 90’s MTV series, you weren’t exactly the target audience.
I wasn’t a big fan of the series myself (and we didn’t have MTV in my town), but it was one of those things that was talked about enough that I feel like I know the story even though I’ve only seen maybe 4 or 5 episodes. The only reason I know the character originates from Beavis and Butthead is my cousins were huge fans of both series. But unlike Beavis and Butthead, Daria didn’t leave me feeling like my brain cells had died after watching it.
I love Daria, but the idea of a movie feels antithetical to the show.
However, it would probably be easier to get a movie made than it was to get the DVDs released.
I actually just re-watched the entire run of Daria recently, and stand by the statement that it was one of the best sitcoms of the 90s. The writing was very smart, and very funny. The characters on the show started out as a lineup of high-school stereotypes that grew ever more complex and interesting. Daria actually experienced some real growth as a character, which made her a thousand times more interesting than any other cover-girl teen character from 90s TV.
That being said, Daria was VERY MUCH a product of its time, and I think any attempt to build it into a franchise will fall flat. The trailer was cute as parody, but I fear that it represents the exact approach that would be taken with an attempt to adapt the show.
