Latino Review is running a story that says Batman Begins scribe David Goyer has been signed to write the next Superman movie installment. This comes after the news that Christopher Nolan was involved in righting the Superman franchise. According to the article, Goyer will base the story on John Bryne’s telling of the Superman tale, and will be called The Man of Steel.
I can tell you that Goyer’s story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology.
It should be noted that this a one of those H’Wood rumors that need to be confirmed to be believed, but Variety reported something similar a few days ago, so this may be the way it goes down. It should be noted that we did report that Goyer stepped away from ABC’s FlashForward to work on a new film project, and that could be the clue that he’s working on the red and blue. To counter that, Harry Knowles said he spoke with the head of Legendary Pictures who states that the Latino Review story isn’t true at all.
Believe it, or not, Major Spoilerites?

Was he missing?

Oh you see, that story is based of an IESB rumor and as I’ve stated a few years ago, we no longer report on IESB bullshit as they make up half this stuff just for link baiting. Tell you what; when a director is announced, and it’s broken by a site that is not just there for contradicts its own rumors three times a week, we’ll cover it. How’s that sound?
Makes sense..though to be fair this rumor might hold water considering how Flash Forward is tanking. And DC is now rushing on movie production.
