The war is finally upon us. The Phyrexians have been identified as a full out threat and the Mirrans are starting to rally the forces for survival. I made it to a prerelease this weekend and got to play with a good chunk of the new cards, so I think I can safely form an opinion now.

As I promised, we get a look at some actual game play!
It is currently my favorite time to be a Magic: the Gathering player, Previews Weeks. This happens four times a year and I am giddy the entire time. New cards, new mechanics, and even new story are revealed. This time, I’ve been given something even more amazing than ever before.

I’m not particularly good about keeping up with the latest from gaming companies. So my first interaction with the announcement that Wizards of the Coast has discontinued its miniatures collections came primarily from angry tweets. So I went to WotC’s page, I read the announcement, I thought about it for a bit, and here’s my opinion: It’s not surprising.
If you are a big Dungeons and Dragons fan and enjoy using pre-painted miniatures in your game play, you better get to the store and stock up now. Wizards of the Coast has announced it will no longer release Dungeons & Dragons miniatures sets. There may be collected sets available in the future, but for now, it looks like Wizards is relying on the game tokens found in the new Essentials and Red Box collection. While miniatures were probably never a big seller, having a plethora of figures to pull from for your weekly gaming adventure made things more interesting.…
