For some reason I thought KB Toys went out of business years ago.  Guess it was a regional closing that I remember. In any case, the company has filed for Chapter 11 and will close its doors. KB intends to close its retail stores — consisting of 277 shopping mall locations, 114 outlets, 40 KB Toy Works stores, and 30 holiday stores — and sell its wholesale distribution business. Triad Toys has announced pre-orders for its Soul Caliber 4 12-inch Taki figure is currently going on at the company website. Slated for an end-of-March 2009 release, Taki will come with the updated Otaku 1.2 body with metal pinned hips as well as the highly anticipated Bullet Time display stand. If you haven’t figured it out by now, those of us in the United States of America are going through some tough economic times.  The recession has caused massive layoffs in the publishing industry (with many magazines, and newspapers shutting down) to the point where my long running claim that print is dead may finally happen.   The bad times don’t just affect the print, automotive, and housing industries, however.  Todd McFarlane wrote an official announcement of the layoffs at toy company in the Spawn message board.
