PRESS RELEASE: Indie horror comic label Scary Tales Publishing announced the release of the premier issue of their first family friendly comic book, “SUPERED-UP MONSTER KIDS”. This first issue collector’s edition tells the origin story for this new super-team; revealing how four, marginally dorky, horror movie loving kids, become the monster-powered heroes known as Draculad, Frankenteen, Mummy’s Girl and Zomboy.

Over the last several years, I’ve been fortunate in that I’ve met many Indie comics creators who have been expanding the boundaries of comics storytelling. Superheroes have long been the dominant type of comic in the industry, so it’s no surprise folks are pushing the boundaries in that genre. I have loved Bart Sears’ art ever since I first saw his work in Justice League: Europe. He always adds a layer of creativity that makes what I’m reading not only pop off the page, but explode off it. I hadn’t seen much from him recently, but that’s now changed as of the recent Heroes Con. I discovered that he had formed Ominous Press back in the 1990s, which highlighted his own creations.
