Marvel has announced artist Carlos Pacheco is coming back to the company, and his first bit of work is a “parent” variant cover to the upcoming Secret Warriors #1. Pacheco’s cover features the chill-inducing lineup of Mr. Hyde, the Phantom Rider and Griffin. The two super villains and one ghostly “hero” represent the parental pedigree of Secret Warriors Quake, Hellfire and Yo-Yo, and the cult status of the characters proved the perfect assignment to bring Pacheco back to the Marvel U. This is the first work for Marvel by Pacheco in five years.  Secret Warriors #1 arrives February 4, 2009.…

Marvel has announced Hulk #9 continues the series sell out record.  According to the company, the series continues to be a hit among fans as readers try to figure out who is the Red Hulk. “This has been the greatest ride ever,” said series writer Jeph Loeb in a prepared statement. “Having Arthur Adams and Frank Cho join us for those three issues (and for some surprises to come!) was not only a great pleasure, but it kept the HULK right on top!  Be sure to come back next issue when Ed ‘Ed’ McGuinness returns!” While Marvel hasn’t said this…

The crux of 20th Century Fox’s suit against Warner Bros. to halt the release of Watchmen is that producer Larry Gordon failed in his turnaround agreement with Fox that allowed the company to distribute the film if Gordon was able to sell the concept to another studio. This has lead to many citing Gordon as the one who is the big villain in this movie fiasco.  Finally frustrated with all the criticism, Gordon fired off a lengthy letter Federal Judge Gary Frees stating his position in an attempt to clean up his reputation. Gordon had remained silent since then but…

DC must be tickled pink over the Watchmen Trailer Effect.  Sales for the trade paperback have skyrocketed since July, and the book took a double dip at the top selling graphic novels for December.  Watchmen took the number 1 and number 3 spots on BookScan USA’s graphic novel list, with the paperback taking the top spot, and the newly released hard cover coming in third. Even though Watchmen is soaring high, Naruto still dominates the list with volumes taking the number 2, 5, 11 spots. via ICv2

A vile den of drugs and villainy If I had to run down a list of movies that have a special place in my heart, Touchstone’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit would certainly be on the list.  I really fell in love with the idea of cartoon characters living side by side with humans, and when you throw in a big mystery and a song and dance number, how could you not like this movie?  Image Comics’ Shadowline imprint just released Archibald Chases the Dragon, and it brings back almost all of the memories from that crazy rabbit film.
