[Wishful Thinking] Booster Gold and Blue Beetle movie rumor has us really excited

Of all the characters in the DC Universe I’ve said, time and time again, DC need to do a buddy cop movie featuring Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. And, if the Internet rumor is to be believed, it’s happening.

Or not…

According to “inside the industry like no one else, including those guys at Latino review” site The Tracking Board, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are working with Greg Berlanti and Zak Penn to bring the heroic duo to the silver screen. And, if the site is to be believed, Warner Bros. is pushing this movie to be a buddy cop laugh fest.

Believe it? I would love it if it were so, but no other site (Latino Review, Deadline, Bleeding Cool, Variety, THR) are reporting on this story, so while I wish it were happening, until we get a confirmation from WB or DC Entertainment, we’ll sadly have to file this in the rumor category. While I would love to see this happen – believe me, there is no one else who wants this movie more – with three television productions in the works, when would Berlanti have time to direct the movie? And what kind of offer would WB make to Zak Penn to pull him away from Marvel?

It is a slow news week, which seems like a perfect time for a rumor to bubble to the top and take the Internet by storm, but something doesn’t add up to me.
