As I write this, I’ve just completed a full weekend of cleaning, cooking and basic domestic daddery, and I could really go for something sweet. For the last week, we’ve been eating a maple cake with maple frosting that my daughter made as a test run for her upcoming birthday party, and its cloying sweetness has left my palate craving something different, maybe something with more of a kick to it, like a nice lemon cookie or something with bitter undernote, like cranberry. If I had my choice, it’d be a cranberry-white chocolate chip cookie, but more than likely I’m going to have a low-calorie oatmeal thing regardless of what I want, which leads us to today’s rather peckish query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) actually wouldn’t mind an oatmeal scotchie, or perhaps a nice cannoli or six, asking: What kind of cookie could you most go for right now?

Im not a big cookie or anything sweet guy, but we got ones called “Jaffa” here that are kinda regular soft type cookie, coated with chocolate on one side and orange jelly baked inside. Those are pretty good. At some places I’ve seen them called “Jaffa cakes”, but they are cookies and thats it.
I don’t know what they are actually called, but it is a peanut butter cookie with a Hershey’s Kiss on top (or, alternately, a mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup on top). My family and friends usually make them around Christmas, and I finished off mine back in the first week of January.
I’m also craving “Bloody Spearheads”. They are basically just sugar cookies, cut with a generic Christmas tree cookie cutter, but with white icing over most of it and some red icing around the top.
I haven’t thought about blossom cookies in years. I used to help my Mom and Grandma make them a long time ago.
Well, I was just chewing on a Samoa as I read this, so I guess that’s the answer. Those Girls Scouts, young temptresses pushing their sweet concoctions always during Lent, a time of abstinence and fasting! I am weak for the chocolate coconut caramel chewy of their Samoa cookies.
Other times of the year, it’s a chewy oatmeal raisin. I guess I like my cookies with some chew.
I guess I’m just your average chocolate chip cookie kinda guy. Other kinds are good for holidays and special occasions, but for me chocolate chip is my favorite go to cookie.
I would love a nice soft chewy chocolate chip right now.
I love a snicker doodles right now
I could go for something complicated. White chocolate macadamia nut.
Growing up, there was a cookie shop at the food court of our local mall. They had my favorite sugar cookies there, some kind of soft, white butter one. Went out of business in favor of some franchise with crappy premade stuff. Long time since I had one.
I’d say something salty, with lemon. Or maybe a plain old shortcake.
