Press Release
Jeff Smith’s new ongoing comic, TUKI, is coming to your local comic shop in full color. TUKI Save the Humans was originally solicited to be a black & white comic book, in keeping with Smith’s previous comics, BONE and RASL. But since TUKI has appeared in color on boneville.com, comics fans are overwhelmingly supportive of a full color print version.
“That’s what I hear over and over while I’m on the road at comic shows,” said Smith, “To which I say: It’s on!” TUKI #1 will ship in July and will be in full color with no change in price. Pre-order TUKI #1 at your comic shop using Diamond Item Code: MAY141240. TUKI#1 Written & drawn by Jeff Smith with color by Tom Gaadt, will be 32 pages, four color, and retail for $3.99
TUKI has been nominated for a National Cartoonist Society division award. http://www.reuben.org/2014/03/2013-ncs-divisional-nominees/
About TUKI: 2,000,000 years ago, a great ice age gripped the earth, trapping all moisture in the polar icecaps, causing drought and upheaval in the rest of the world. Vast tropical jungles gave way to dusty grasslands, and all living creatures struggled to survive, including the many species of hominids. To avoid extinction, something had to be done. TUKI Save the Humans is the story of the first human to leave Africa.
