That poll for best theme song was tough. I really like Remy Zero’s song for Smallville. Only thing about the show my wife liked. But I still listen to Brian Setzer’s Orchestra’s live version of the Batman theme every chance I get. It holds up for me.
Your Lovecraft expert didn’t really know as much as I had hoped he would. I don’t often try to have arguments with my podcasts while listening to them, but this was one of those times.
Great interview with Dr. Will! Your discussion of the sublime and its presence (or absence) in popular culture, especially placing it in opposition with humanistic works of fiction, was intriguing to say the list. Do I want more of this type of thing? Yes, I do. I mean, come on, a relevant and informed Kant reference in a “comics” podcast? Cut above, Stephen, cut above.
