Variety is reporting that Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and Joey King have been cast in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises film. There’s no word on what roles they will play, or when they will appear on set, but the more news that trickles out that gets people talking can’t be that bad.

Joey King is rumored to play a character named Carrie Kelly. I don’t know who that is.

Then I wonder if maybe they are going for a Batman & Robin thing but taking the popularity of Hit-Girl into account when selecting which Robin?
Girl Robin right out of the gate would be awesome.
I cannot remember Carrie Kelly. She has been replaced in my mind by Stephanie Brown.
After seeing how well Chloe Moretz claimed the screen as Hit-Girl, then the Carrie Kelly character would be great. I’m sure the comparisons to Hit-Girl will be inevitable but if the character is done well then she’ll stand on her own.
How reliable is the rumor? She could be Barbara Gordon.
For some reason I can’t seem to find the site where I saw her listed as Carrie Kelly. I’d never heard of that character before so I know I saw it somewhere.
Gordon’s daughter is in “The Dark Knight”. But although she is in the finale her face is never shown. She is not even listed in the credits by her first name although Gordon’s wife is listed as “Barbara Gordon”.
So it’s all still open to speculation.
That was how I remembered The Dark Knight ending too. How about a Harley Quinn with a rewritten origin? Say daughter of the Joker out for revenge. You laugh, but it could happen in Hollywood.
