The war is finally upon us. The Phyrexians have been identified as a full out threat and the Mirrans are starting to rally the forces for survival. I made it to a prerelease this weekend and got to play with a good chunk of the new cards, so I think I can safely form an opinion now.

It is currently my favorite time to be a Magic: the Gathering player, Previews Weeks. This happens four times a year and I am giddy the entire time. New cards, new mechanics, and even new story are revealed. This time, I’ve been given something even more amazing than ever before.

Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play charity organization is one of the best examples of creators and fans giving to those in need. Wizards of the Coast and Penny Arcade have been rather tight these last couple of years, and with the launch of Magic 2011, Wizards of the Coast has pledged to donate up to $22,000 to the Child’s Play organization – but you’re going to need participate in order for the money to get into the hands of children and hostpitals. To celebrate the launch of Magic 2011 Wizards of the Coast is hosting M11 Launch Parties around the globe…
Wizards of the Coast has released Images and short descriptions of the 60-card intro decks for Magic 2011. Right of the bat we can see a couple of interesting things. First off, none of the foily rares are reprints, meaning they will be brand new for 2011. Second, three out of the five intro packs feature enemy color combos, could this mean that 2011 is going to have more enemy color support? We’ll just have to wait and see.
