This will be the last Tintin post for the day, I promise, but during my daily trip through the Internet, I began looking for other interpretations of the Herge character.  And i found one from Javier Burgos Arroyo. TintÃn (and Milú AKA Snowy), was my fav character in my childhood (well, Asterix and Obelix were close too), I had so much fun reading his adventures one time and another… Its also the kind of comic I always wanted to draw. He still rocks. I dig it. via Deviant Art

Today’s installment features work by Marcio Takara. Instead of the normal single shot image, like we normally do, I found Marcio’s work on Boom! Studios The Incredibles #3, where Marcio delivers up the cover from pencils to final cover. Looking at the process is sometimes just as important and inspiring as looking at the finished image.
Check out the cover to the upcoming Marvel Adventures Super Heroes #15 by Sean Galloway. Rocks.
Can’t get enough Adam Hughes, and just love this Josie and the Pussycats piece.
DC, if you’re reading (maybe you are, maybe you aren’t, and if you aren’t, why aren’t you?) you might want to get a hold of today’s Art Appreciation Moment of the Day artist, Jay Brant, and print a ba-million and a half of these on t-shirts. I bet you’d sell ’em all. “Gone, gone the form of man! Rise the Demon, Etrigan!” Other than the Green Lantern oath, there’s not anything in comics more fun to say out loud. Did anyone else love the Demon’s appearance in the Batman Animated Series?! Coolness! via Deviant Art
With the news about John Carter of Mars finally getting out of pre-pro hell and moving into the production stage, my Intardwebz wandering led me down the John Carter path to discover this nice piece by Matt Rhodes. If there was going to be an animated version of John Carter (there was a test bit you can find), then I would hope the studio would go for a look like this one.
I think it is rather interesting how I find the daily art appreciation moments. For Dan Schoening’s entry, I found a totally different image posted over at the Comic Bloc Forum, which lead me on a search for the creator, which lead me to Dan’s website, which featured this most awesome homage to Back to the Future. Oh yes, it is my new desktop background. via Dapper Dan
I’m a huge fan of Joe Pekar’s work, and I just found out he’s almost done with his creator owned Brandi Bare comic book. I loved his variant covers to Boom! Studios Hexed series, so why not feature the teaser image to the Brandi Bare first issue?
Steal this image, print it out, post it around the world.
Today’s sneak peek of Batman: Streets of Gotham had me yearning to share some more Dustin Nguyen art on the site. Dustin has been featuring a series of Battle for the Cowl pieces on his Deviant Art page, and I like ’em all. Great exaggerated caricatures of some of Batman’s friends and foes.
TJ has some nice art over on his Deviant Art page, and I was drawn in by his piece depicting two of DC’s resurrected heroes. via Deviant Art
Today, we’re taking the Art Appreciation Moment and giving it a unique twist. Instead of featuring sketches, or finished pieces from previously published work, we’re taking a look at Sean Gordon Murphy’s work from the upcoming Joe the Barbarian series by Grant Morrison and published by Vertigo.
I always thought Samurai Jack was a series that was ahead of its time, but it paved the way for a lot of the aniamted shows we have today, so I guess it evens out. At the very least I can give you another taste of the Samurai in the future thanks to Ethen Beavers. via Deviant Art
Those of you who have been following the Major Spoilers Podcast for any length of time have seen us switch to original art as part of the logo for each new episode. Those fantastic little drawings come from Dante, who whips these up during our recording session. During the most recent Major Spoilers Podcast, the Major Spoilers Crew discussed comics in the classroom. Dante took that theme and ran with it, so as a big thanks to Dante for taking the time to draw these pieces of original art, we’re featuring him in this installment of the Art Appreciation Moment…
