Rumors are a great way to fan the flames and get people worked up, often over nothing. However, the latest Superman movie rumor has us smiling with anticipation.  Seems Zack Snyder has been mulling over who should play Jonathan “Pa” Kent in the franchise reboot/sequel/relaunch, and came up with Kevin Costner. Now, while nothing is confirmed, it makes sense that the aging actor, with the soft smile and knowing eyes, to play the man who would give Clark perspective on the world and set him on the right path. The fast and furious assault of pornographic parodies of some of our beloved franchises has been hitting us hard (pun intended) over the last couple of years. Everything from The Simpsons XXX, to Grey’s Anatomy XXX, and recently Batman XXX, which won an award have come to DVD for your home viewing pleasure. Vivid Entertainment released Superman XXX: A Porn Parody a few weeks ago, and I finally got my hands on it (pun intended).

It’s been confirmed that Cobie Smulders will play S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in the upcoming The Avengers movie from Marvel Studios. Smulder’s deal would integrate her S.H.I.E.L.D agent character in nine films, as is typical for actors landing roles in Marvel’s pics. Character would work closely with Jackson’s Nick Fury, and eventually becomes the head of the espionage and law enforcement group. You’ve probably seen Smulders in How I Met Your Mother on CBS, and if you followed the rumor mill back when Joss Whedon was working on Wonder Woman she was one of the contenders for the role. via…

Parodies of the CSI series abound across the Intardwebz. Heck, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t put on a pair of sunglasses and scream “YEAAAAAAAAHHHHH!” as I walk out the door headed to who knows what kind of mischief. Making the rounds this week is the Doctor Who take on the CBS franchise.

It feels like the ’90s all over again as variant covers continue to roll out from comic book publishers. Bluewater Productions sent Major Spoilers the variant cover to Fame: The Royals by Pablo Martinena.

Archie Comics has announced that Archie and the Riverdale gang will head to the lost land of San Mantana, where they discover dinosaur bones, and a whole lot more.  The issue is written by Spider-Girl scribe Tom DeFalco, with art by Fernando Ruiz.  If girls in fur bikinis are your thing, then this issue might be worth picking up when it arrives in May, 2011. via Archie Comics

See what happens when people get all excited about Marge Simpson appearing in Playboy? It’s bad enough the guy who sounds like Homer isn’t actually seen talking on screen, but now we have to see yellow people having sex. Actually, that Flanders bit was pretty damn funny. I wonder how many times Homer says “Makin’ Bacon…. mmmmm… bacon…” ? So, when are we going to see The Family Guy: A XXX Porn Parody? Anyone placing bets yet?
