In the holiday rush, you may have forgot to pick up your comics from the store. Or you may not have received them in the mail. In either case, if you didn’t get comics, you missed the second installment of Ultimatum from Marvel. via Marvel
Those famous Max Fleischer Superman cartoons from the 1940s have been in public domain for years, causing many cheap versions to be passed around. Fortunately, Warner Home Video is collecting the original 17 shorts and releasing them on a two DVD collection in April 2009.
Here’s a gift from our friends at Warner Home Video – more images from the upcoming Wonder Woman animated direct to DVD movie.
Even with the volume restarts, The Darkness, from Top Cow, is poised to hit its 75th issue*. To commemorate the milestone event, the company invited a list of artists to contribute to the oversized issue. The list of artists includes: Michael Broussard (current series artist), Jorge Lucas (Pilot Season: Ripclaw), Dale Keown (Pitt), Joe Benitez (Justice League of America), Ryan Sook (Superman/Batman), Steve Firchow (Ultimatum), Frazer Irving (Silent War), Lee Carter (2000 AD), Stjepan Sejic (Witchblade) and Matt Timson (Impaler). If you thought the second volume of Atomic Robo was spinning its wheels, you might want to pick up the fifth issue and give it a read. The Sparrow is out, Milligan is in, and Robo has to stop the greatest weapon ever developed.
One of the best MST3K songs of all time. Hope your holiday is great!
Man I wish our crappy cable system had the real BBC so I could watch the new Doctor Who Christmas Special. I’ll have to comfort myself with BBC America, where I’ll be able to watch three back-to-back episodes of Doctor Who, including the 2006 Christmas Special beginning at 4:00 PM EST.

All work and no Rodrigo makes Jack a dull boy. The Doctor is in, but we can’t make our copay. The Late, Great Bird of the Galaxy is a little less lonely. Plus: You’ll not have that for that much longer! Santa Claus with a cape? Won’t you come and join the party dressed to kill? The Major Spoilers podcast is on the air! Big Battle Coming Right Up The Tangent Universe is one of those fifth week events that introduced a new group of heroes from a parallel – or rather a tangent – universe. We were introduced to the likes of the Green Lantern, Flash, and others, who had similar powers but were not the heroes we know. Tangent Earth is nothing like New Earth. Sure it has the same land masses, the similar characters, but on New Earth, Superman hasn’t taken control of the planet and isn’t subjugating his will on everyone. So what happens when Harvey Dent (Tangent Earth Superman)…
We’re spinning the fight out to the future where robots will be our supreme overlords. Instead of having us meatbags fight for their pleasure, the future will be filled with Robot Wars. In the latest round, we’re pitting Bender from Futurama, against Kryten from the BBC comedy Red Dwarf. Marvel Animation has posted the episode rundown and descriptions for the upcoming second season of The Spectacular Spider-Man. There was a huge amount of buzz over season one (we even reviewed it on the Major Spoilers Podcast), and season two looks even better. Canadians get to see the new episodes in January, while us ‘mericans have to wait until March. And no, Gwen Stacy doesn’t die this season.
