When Hollywood comes a calling to a comic publisher, it’s usually to take a property and turn it into a motion picture. In the case of The Remnant, the situation is reversed, as Stephen Baldwin heads to Boom! Studios to create a tale filled with suspense and the supernatural.

As the new year begins, it’s always a good idea to take a moment and look back at 2008 and examine my favorite Major Spoilers moments for the year that make running Major Spoilers one of my most favorite jobs in the world.
Despite the Ultimatum banner, there’s no Ultimatum story here (sorta) If readers were wondering how Ultimate Spider-Man would make the transition from the Return of Gwen Stacy story last issue, into the Ultimatum story line this issue, fear not, as nothing that takes place in Ultimatum appears in this issue. Instead, this issue serves as a lead up to the crossover series, even though the crossover series has already begun. Ah mega-events! You gotta love ‘em!

I can’t believe this collection is already up to the 8th wave – I’m still trying to get my hands on a complete 2nd Wave set! With each preview I receive, I get more excited about this line, especially the build a figure feature. I know it isn’t a new concept, but it is for DC figures, and the one in Wave 8 is a knockout. This movie just keeps getting weirder and weirder. The Guinea Pig Force (hence G-Force) is tasked with stopping a crazed man who is about to unleash an mechanized army. Oddly, those mechanized robots transform from everyday devices. With Bruckheimer behind this coming fiasco, it doesn’t surprise me that this is the result. Don’t believe me? Check the trailer for yourself (before legal takes it down).
This isn’t as strange as the Marvel DCU that seems to throw everyone whenever it is mentioned on the site. Instead, these are custom Watchmen figures cobbled together from the Marvel Legends line. Looks pretty cool, even if The Comedian’s mustache features a bit of super-cheese.
