Way back in the day, when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made their debut on the morning cartoons, Archie Comics released a three issue mini-series that adapted the first five episodes of the 1987 television series. With the turtles celebrating their 25th “Shell-ebration” (not my gag, I promise you), Archie is collecting the series into a trade paperback. A generation of readers thrilled to the heroic exploits of the Turtles as they set out to rescue April O’Neil from the Foot Clan! The thrilling story had it all: the origins of the Turtles, Splinter, Bebop and Rocksteady; the first Archie…

Oh boy, if there was ever a weird sci-fi mini-series, that turned into a full blown series, that featured alien Nazi Reptilians invading Earth, and rounding up humans for food, and was then canceled after one season, it would have to be V. ABC has given a greenlight nod to a remake of the series that had audiences glued to their television screens in the 1983. The new “V” centers on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them — causing tension within the family. I wonder if…
Steven Spielberg is quickly moving on the mocapped CGI Tintin movie by announcing Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell will play Tintin, with 007 Daniel Craig as Red Rackham. Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have already boarded the project. Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook will round out the cast. The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn is scheduled to be in theaters in 2011, supposedly the same year we might see the next Batman flick. via Variety
February 18, 2009 will wrap up the Ultimate X-Men series with issue #100. The same day sees the end of Ultimate Fantastic Four which had a mildly interesting 60-issue run. The end of the series ties directly into Ultimatum from Marvel, which seems to be hell-bent on destroying the Ultimate Universe that spawned the whole Marvel Zomibe craze. I’ve done a little digging, but after the last round of solicitations from Marvel, I’m more convinced all of Ultimate U is ending when Ultimate Spider-Man reaches issue #133. ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #60 (DEC082344) ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #60 WHITE VARIANT (DEC082345) Written…
I’ve mentioned the Clockwork Storybook men more than once on Major Spoilers. We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Matthew Sturges and Mark Finn to the Major Spoilers Podcast, and while I continue to work on the other two scribes, Chris Roberson surprises the hell out of me by posting Dusty Abell’s fantastic homage to the great sci-fi television series from the 70’s and 80’s. You really need to click the thumbnail below to get the full image and appreciate the work that went into this piece. How many characters and shows can you name? Guess what is now my new…

Sad news for football fans, as the image above shows David Beckham falling to the power of the Red Lanterns. Â Damn, all the recent reports that he’s learning Italian finally make sense; he’s not leaving the Galaxy, simply leaving the planet for another sector. Thanks for the tip Mugsgame!

When it was unintentionally leaked through Previews that two of the Black Lanterns in the upcoming Blackest Night storyline were going to be Kal-L and Martian Manhunter, one has to wonder if Ryan Ottley saw the writing on the wall when he sketched this Zombie Superman image way back in June of 2007. While the image doesn’t match the action figure solicitation exactly, it does make you wonder. Wanna see Zombie Batman? No you don’t…
Fanboys, the ultimate nerd movie (of this decade) if finally scheduled to arrive in theaters February 6, 2009 (thanks Weinstein!). Check out this first clip featuring hottie Kristen Bell. There are two more after the jump.
This past weekend, Andrew Stanton, the man behind many of the best animated movies of the last 15 years, said the upcoming John Carter of Mars movie will not be a Pixar movie, but will be firmly under the Disney banner. Stanton also dismissed rumors that the film would be entirely 3D in nature. The look of the film will be “very real,” and not highly-stylized, due to what Stanton sees as the way the original story has been ripped off by many different movies over the years; it’ll also be a faithful retelling, with Carter remaining the Civil War…
