I admit it: I miss Calista Flockhart. Supergirl’s first season had a lot of elements of ‘office dramedy’ that made her Cat Grant an interesting wild card character, and while the shift in focus from workplace hijinks to a more global take mitigated a lot of it, I still sometimes want Supergirl to have that elder stateswoman figure to snottily say things that are probably still pretty abusive but meant to build her up. ‘Supergirl’ is still a good show (and one that I’m gonna miss when it ends next season) but I just can’t shake the feeling that there’s a missing character in the stories, even with the changes in the cast over the past couple of seasons, leading to today’s absentee query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) still never quite feels the recent Teen Titans lineups, lacking, as they do, Cyborg, asking: Which removed, retconned or otherwise missing character do you miss the most?

If you ever have the chance to watch the British show Misfits, featuring (among others) Iwan Rheon (who also played Ramsay Bolton on Game of Thrones) and Robert Sheehan (a.k.a. Klaus Hargreeves in Umbrella Academy) I recommend the first season, rife with reprobate teens who have gotten superpowers. After that, they lose Sheehan’s “Nathan” who had been serving as the main POV character, meaning the premise shifts around a bit and they’re forced to change other characterizations to fill the void, and it loses something in the process.
Where did Honey Badger go? Easily the best new Marvel character I’ve seen, Gabby made every X-story way better by just being there.
