    This week’s comics startled me with the appearance of another issue of ‘Doomsday Clock’, the big crossover that combines the DC Universe and the world of ‘Watchmen’ into one continuity for the first time.  The surprise was two-fold, partly a moment of shock in remembering that the series was ongoing and partly the realization that I don’t actually remember anything that happened in the first six issues of the book, leading to today’s crossover query…

    The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) thinks the last issue was all about the origins of two NEW characters or something, asking: Are you one of the people enthused about more Doomsday Clock?

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise!
