Major Spoilers Poll of the Week
Battle of the Exes
We’ve all been there, the broken romance, the failed marriage, the parting of ways. Hopefully during those breaks, everyone can move on with their lives, but sometimes, just sometimes when the new love walks in the door, the ex-significant other goes on the rampage. In comics, there are a number of exes who have gone ballistic over the years, and this week, we’re throwing two of them in the ring and seeing who walks out the winner.

Matthew, one question regarding the Battle of the Planets portion of the show. There was a point where Stephen asked if there was any other Battle of the Planets mini series or anything out before this and besides a European series and the old Gold Key comics you said no and while that may be true I just wanted to know where the Battle of the Planets/Thundercats crossover fits in. I assume it’s after the mini-series you reviewed because it too is drawn (at least covers) by Alex Ross and I’d assume the spin-off would come after their own stand-alone. Was that crossover any good? And chance you might want to review any of that in the future. I know it was a super corny show but I loved Thundercats as a kid. I was also I guess young enough that Snarf/Orko/Scrappy Doo/Needler/annoying sidekick was funny to me and not irritating. Thanks!
I haven’t really read that crossover, though I believe I have it somewhere. I’ve never had any fondness for the Thundercats, and I believe there’s an odd framing device in that story that was off-putting, but can’t recall exactly.
Alright, I understand. He-man and Thundercats were super corny but they just hit me at the right age. I do think the hardest thing with any crossover is how good is their reason/excuse for these two or more different IP’s to be in the same place.
