If you watch carefully, as I always did, it was a little bit weird that Batman didn’t get to throw punches at Scarecrow and Penguin during Super Friends. The restrictions of Saturday morning TV in the ’70s wouldn’t allow it, but you just knew that Casey Kasem and Olan Soule wanted to smack some people. The question of which superheroes have a mean right hook is a fascinating one, albeit one that has to be adjusted for various levels of power. (Superman lost a fight to Muhammad Ali, after all.) Thus, we must scour the worlds of fiction for fisticuffs, leading to today’s two-fisted query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) wouldn’t want to face Captain America in a boxing ring, but thinks the real answer for me is Wildcat, asking: Which fictional character do you think has the very MEANEST mean right cross?

Matt Murdock. He learned it from his dad.
Saitama. One punch and that’s it.
Luke Cage. Other characters could definitely hit harder, but i dont think anybody could use a punch as an existential insult as well as Luke Cage. Imagine the dozens clinic he’d be running while whuppin’ ya.
