When I was in grade school. special occasions and celebration days included special movie presentations in the auditorium, often consisting of strange Disney fare and black-and-white comedy shorts featuring the likes of Abbott and Costello or Laurel and Hardy. By far the best, though, were Three Stooges days, featuring the kings of slapstick comedy doing their thing, regardless of the danger to life and limb. Producing nearly 200 movies over the course of 25 years, with careers dating back to 1925, the various Stooges consistently delivered the funny in different ways and combinations. But the question of who is the best depends on specifically what you find funny, which leads us to today’s WOOPWOOPWOOPWOOP query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) has great respect for all the men who were Stooges, but especially for Shemp, who came back from his successful solo career to help out his little brothers in a time of crisis, asking: Which of the various Three Stooges is the BEST Stooge?

Moe is clearly the best. I particularly liked it when he was traveling with Jaime and Zoe.
For whatever reason, The Stooges never landed for me. I guess I just don’t lean toward that more slapstick style of humor.
So I guess my closest answer I can give is Abbott and Costello – especially when they are doing, what I think might be one of the greatest comedy routines ever performed, Who’s on First…
So, not a Stooge, but I feel like it’s in the ballpark… (pun definitely intended)
