The end of the year means any number of holidays, and depending on your family, you may have a weird holiday tradition or two. In my wife’s family, it’s traditional to open a present containing new pajamas on Chrimmus Eve, with the lore being that presents cannot be delivered unless you have them on. Widget keeps trying to explain something to me about the Christmas pickle, but she’s so angry that she can’t quite explain what it is, and it just isn’t December in my house without the annual viewing of Rudolph and ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas.’ For my part, since we have a weird melange of multiple families with multiple traditions about multiple holidays, it’s all a mish-mash that means EVERTYTHING is a little weird, leading to today’s Solstice query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) never had an Elf on the Shelf as a child, but we did have an hidden icicle ornament that you were supposed to find for an extra present, asking: What’s your personal favorite Weird Holiday Tradition?
