Recently I read the startling statistic that you are more likely to be killed by a cow than a shark. This makes sense, actually, as humans are primarily land-creatures, and more likely to actually encounter a cow in such a setting. But even so, given the focus on shark attacks and ‘Shark Week’ and that movie that made Steven Spielberg a household name, it’s hard to wrap your mind around such a statistic. Then again, I’m from the Midwest, and have seen firsthand what a really dedicated, angry hoofed ruminant can do, making the cow or shark question more fraught and leading to today’s doomed-either-way query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would like to state that today’s MS-QOTD assumes you will survive the asks: If you had to be attacked by a wild animal, would you prefer cow or shark?

Shark, just because it would make for a way cooler story
Shark on land, cow on sea.
Shark, just because it is the one of the two I haven’t been attacked by yet (grew up in a small farm town).
Bonus points if the shark attack is somewhere unexpected, like the cow that came after me after it somehow managed to get inside the LOCKED grocery store overnight without breaking the doors or windows.
Neither! I’ll just stay out of the ocean and rogue farmlands from now on.
Cow, at least it won’t eat me.
