A hero is only as good a his villain, so the saying goes, but many of our greatest heroes have multiple options to choose from. Spider-Man’s greatest villain is Doctor Octopus, Wonder Woman’s is Doctor Cyber, Batman’s is Hugo Strange. These are incontrovertible truths with which there is no argument, so don’t bother (I’m old and opinionated and I’ve known Stephen for 30 years, so there’s no hope in converting me), but the question of which is the greatest villain is entirely up in the air, leading to today’s nefarious query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) has a lot of options, but asks only that if you say The Joker that you show your work, ’cause that guy is annoying, asking: What bad guy or gal is the greatest villain in all pop culture?

In terms of influence and recognition, Darth Vader.
If you live long enough…
Robert Mitchum in The Night of Hunter.
Or Robert Walker in Strangers on a Train. It would be horrible to be targeted by a helpful sociopath!
