This weekend, I pretty much accomplished two things: Ten or twelve loads of laundry and a binge-watch of Season 1 of ‘The Good Place’. Not bad for a twenty-third wedding anniversary weekend that was also Easter, right? With only 13 half-hour episodes and a really complex and dynamic story, TGP (which is what I’ve decided that we fans are gonna call it, so get on board, y’all!) made for a perfect amount of story-telling in perfectly-sized chunks, as well as the wonder of William Jackson Harper, leading to today’s Mindy St Query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) also put together the latest edition of ‘Why Do You Hate Me?’ for our Patreon, and it’s a real stinkfest, my friends, asking: What series makes for your best binge-watch?

Doctor Who. There are worse ways to spend half a day than just watching a whole season of adventures across time and space. The seasons aren’t too long, so it isn’t as taxing as trying to binge a longer series season uninterrupted. Easier still when you have access to the classic series condensed serials, combining all the episodes of one story into an uncut episode or movie format.
I’d say most cartoons. They are short and light enough to be easy to watch and older ones are even self-contained enough not to matter too much if you doze off for an hour or so while at it.
Gravity Fall & Rick and Morty are both great binge cartoons. As for live action a lot of it depends on how I’m feeling, I love to binge How I Met Your Mother, it’s my go to comedy. But one of my favorite shows to binge through is Stranger Things, it’s a great show that’s not super long, I can get through it in a weekend, and I feel like I find new things every time I watch it.
I binge watch documentaries, lol. I am fascinated by WWII documentaries. My favorites are the ones that talk to those who lived it. I can get lost all day in their stories.
