While the headline may make some people cheer, the reason for Zack Snyder stepping away from the Justice League movie is simply tragic.
In an interview with Variety, Snyder explains that the death of his daughter was too much for him to deal with, and he needs to spend time with his family.
Snyder’s daughter, Autumn Snyder (age 20) died of suicide in March. The death had been kept private, even after the movie was put on a two-week break. Now, the director, along with his wife Deborah Snyder, who is also a producer on the film, have decided to take a break from the film in order to deal with the tragedy.
Losing a child of any age is a huge tragedy, and frankly I’m surprised Snyder even attempted to return to work. Warner Bros. is completely behind the decision and I hope fans are understanding as well.
Where does this leave the Justice League movie? Warner Bros, has hired Joss Whedon to finish the post production of the movie so it will meet the November 17 release date. There are some reshoots that are going on, and Whedon is handling those as well.
