IT’S NEW COMIC BOOK DAY! #NCBD
The best day of the week just got a lot better with a new round of awesome comics arriving in stores this week. Staff members at Major Spoilers are here to help you with your comic book selection this week, with their roundup of comics they recommend.
ALL NEW INHUMANS #1
Writer: James Asmus, Charles Soule
Artist: Stefano Caselli
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: As the Terrigen Clouds move around the world they leave in their wake the wrecked lives of the Inhumanized. Crystal and her team are tasked to help as many of these NuHumans as possible, but it’s not going to be easy. Not only are views of these new super-powered people varied (from fear to anger to amazement) but even those who get the powers aren’t always glad to get them. Add to that the nineteen mysterious Skyspears that recently crashed into the Earth, and the Inhuman world just got a lot more complicated.
ROB: The NuHumans have been an interesting addition to Marvel’s lineup in the last couple of years and I’m glad to see more books of the newer characters.
ALL NEW X-MEN #1
Writer: Dennis Hopeless
Artist: Mark Bagley
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Hated and feared more than ever, the world is a dangerous place for mutants. As the few remaining X-MEN retreat into seclusion, a handful of mutant teenagers refuse to allow their destiny to be decided for them. CYCLOPS. BEAST. ICEMAN. ANGEL. THE ALL-NEW WOLVERINE. KID APOCALYPSE. OYA. Stepping out of the shadows of their predecessors, the ALL-NEW X-MEN are striking out on their own, determined to write their own futures!
ROB: Bringing the classic X-Men to the future has actually made for quite the story and I am thoroughly looking forward to this being continued with the extra players here.
ATOMIC ROBO AND THE RING OF FIRE #4
Writer: Brian Clevenger
Artist: Scott Wegener
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Is Atomic Robo now a communist? We have some literature we’d like for you to read about the oppression we all face from the bourgeois capitalist pig-dogs. Buy our book to find out more!
STEPHEN: EVERYONE! ATTENTION EVERYONE! BUY THIS BOOK! BUY THE SERIES! BECOME A FOLLOWER OF OUR ATOMIC ROBO OVERLORD! YOU WILL THANK ME LATER! That is all.
DAREDEVIL #1
Writer: Charles Soule
Artist: Ron Garney
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Back in black and on his home turf, Daredevil begins again in New York City as a new enemy emerges. Meanwhile his alter ego, Matt Murdock, is on a new side of the law in the District Attorney’s office. Fighting crime in the shadows, prosecuting bad guys in the light, it’s a whole new chapter for our man without fear-including the arrival of the devil’s advocate. Welcome to Hell, Blindspot.
MATTHEW: Super-HATE the black suit, but this creative team has enough goodwill that I’m cautiously optimistic…
STEPHEN: Finally, Matt Murdock gets his own series! It’s about time (for this joke to die) that we pick up this book and see what Charles Soule and Ron Garney have to offer. I’m interested to see how this book follows up the Waid run, and like Matthew, I want to know if the costume change is a reflection of the Netflix series, or if it means something ominous is on the horizon.
ROBIN WAR #1
Writer: Tom King
Artist: Khary Randolph
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: In part 1 of this new epic, it’s Robins vs. cops! Robins vs. Robins! Robins vs. Batman! And Robins vs. the Court of Owls? Damian Wayne returns to Gotham City, and he is not happy. There are kids all over the city calling themselves Robin, Bruce Wayne is no longer Batman and the GCPD, led by the new, armored-up Batman, is cracking down on anybody wearing the “R.” And things only get worse when Red Hood, Red Robin and Grayson all come back to Gotham City…
MATTHEW: A Bat-Family crossover? And I’m interested? Somebody call my mama and tell her to come get me…
ROB: All the Robins! Robin has always been my favorite part of the Bat Mythos, and now this puts them all front and center.
STEPHEN: ALL THE ROBINS! Too bad Damian is also part of this arc. We know that Robins will live, and Robins will die, but will the DC Universe ever be the same again!? Let’s find out by picking up this issue.
TOTALLY AWESOME HULK #1
Writer: Greg Pak
Artist: Frank Cho
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: THERE’S A BRAND NEW HULK IN TOWN, AND HIS NAME IS AMADEUS CHO!
Get ready for the craziest Hulk story of the millennium as a kid genius decides he’s gonna be the best Hulk ever — and just possibly brings the entire Marvel Universe crashing down into chaos! Totally awesome beach day! Massive monster mayhem! She-Hulk and Lady Hellbender! Massive heart and ridiculous action brought to you by PLANET HULK writer Greg Pak and superstar artist Frank Cho! Is it possible for us to fit in one more exclamation point? YES!
MATTHEW: All-New All-Different Marvel has some interesting stuff floating around in the mix, and even if I don’t know how permanent Amadeus-Hulk will be, it’s still an clever enough concept for me to be psyched…
ROBOT OVERLORD: A SHORTER POST-THANKSGIVING LIST THIS WEEK, BUT A LIST OF WORTHY COMICS. WHAT DID THESE MEATBAGS MISS? USE THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW! DO IT! DO IT NOW!

Not a huge fan of black Daredevil suit either, but I really like to see him back in Hell’s Kitchen. Thats a certain pick up for me this week.
