AARON AND AHMED HC
Written by JAY CANTOR
Art and cover by JAMES ROMBERGER
“What causes terrorism?”
After his fiancée dies on 9/11, the question plagues Aaron Goodman. It makes him give up his career as a doctor to become an interrogator at Guantanamo Bay. It leads him to meme theory, as he wonders if there could be a cold science behind the conversion of people into suicide bombers. And ultimately, it brings him to Ahmed, a Gitmo prisoner who promises the answers to all of Aaron¹s questions, and in the process, he’ll take Aaron from Guantanamo Bay to the jihadist camps in Pakistan, back to Ground Zero in New York City.
But where do Ahmed’s real loyalties lie? From where did that loyalty spring? To answer that, Aaron will have to reexamine everything he believes, and stare down one of the most compelling questions of the 21st century.
MacArthur Prize fellow and novelist Jay Cantor (Krazy Kat, Great Neck) has won fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and from the Ingram Merrill, Rockefeller and Guggenheim Foundations, as well as accolades from every major print publication. Now, along with James Romberger (THE BRONX KILL), the acclaimed artist whom comics legend Jim Steranko has described as “fearlessly ambitious,” the two focus their considerable talent, insight and vision in one unforgettable and pressingly relevant graphic novel.

This issue begins a 5-part story called “Super Group!” Now why, oh why, in this crazy mixed-up world would we saddle an important funny-book series that has, in 100 issues so far, never had anything to do with Super Heroes with a title like that? And why has snotty little Pinocchio suddenly got it into his head that he needs to design tight-fitting costumes for a carefully selected small team of Fables? In fact, why was the little brat caught looking over his own comic book collection, mumbling things like, “We can call him Werewolf Man, and he can be the Golden Knight, and she can be called The Green Witch?”

I usually save some of the cover images to use as ID3 Tags on your shows. Too bad it is all in Flash format now…
Nothing on this page is in Flash, so don’t know what to tell you…
1. Am I the only one who doesn’t see any images for the non-comic products?
2. DC Universe Legends is an ongoing? Damn. I’m not commiting to that. I was going to buy the DCUniverse Online collectors edition to get the #0 issue (among other things) but this gives it no value to me now.
3. Looks like All Star Batman and Robin gets post-poned AGAIN. So DC, if not February like you said … when?
Whoaahhhaaa on the Hawkgirl statue!
I’ve lost track of how many times there’s been a skeleton in a Flash uniform on a cover since Barry Allen first died/merged with the Speed Force/went on vacation years ago. Damn people. The man’s been dead, came “back” three times, then “part of the Speed Force” then alive, then he was “The Black Flash” (which I never understood)and now he’s on a cover with the other Flashes (Flashers? Past Flashes? Hot Flashes?) as a running bag of bones.
Sorry, Mr Schleicher, the flash assumption was a guess on my part. I was refering to the doohickey which executes after clicking on a coverimage. Currently isn’t even working (I’m using Chrome) only showing a flash-like progress-wheel and grayed-out background. Not to worry though, I go to CBR as much as to this site and they still have the nice big pop-ups in the solicitations.
Sorry it isn’t working for you, currently the pop-ups with the nice big images works on IE7, IE8, and current versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari.

The current version of Chrome is working just fine for me. You might check your installation package.
And I mean no offense by this, but it’s kind of mean to mention the competition right here on the site, y’know.
Does it mean anything that this is absolutely the only site that I go to for all my pop culture and comic needs, and it’s tied up there with Facebook with how often I obsessively check it.
BTW, how do I get a picture other than the blue icon with a white whatever in it?
