AND YET ANOTHER DAMN MONTH WITHOUT THE FINAL ISSUE OF PLANETARY. I don’t recall John Cassaday taking this long to do an issue of the lousy Astonishing X-Men series (The Giant Size Issue does not count because it was intentionally held up by Joe Quesada for Business reasons). Considering the fact that they haven’t even solicited Planetary #27 for November. That means that DC Comics LIED way back in June when they claimed the John Cassaday had already begun to draw the issue. It’s bitterly ironic that one of the best comic book series in the last 15 years is treated with such disdain by its creators. I can understand Warren Ellis wanting to distance himself from a work he practically made whole cloth from “Doc Savage” and to a lesser extent from “The Spider”, Operator 5 and G-8 and various Edgar Rice Burroughs ideas. Sometimes these source materials SURPASS the quality of Planetary. I guess he doesn’t want to bring attention to the fact that he’s terrible at endings. There hasn’t been one work of Warren Ellis with a well written ending.

      But John Cassaday, come on!

Planetary is head and shoulders above ANYTHING ELSE Warren Ellis HAS EVER DONE.

Nothing like spoiling who dies in the next JSA (not that it’s a big shocker). Why are there 4 JSA issues coming out this month? That’s a lot of tie-ins.
