When you’re dealing with a story so huge that it spans multiple Earths, it’s sometimes a good idea to arm yourself with multiple directors – as did the production team behind Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, an all-new DC Universe Animated Original PG-13 Movie from Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation. Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu, the animation directors of the past three DC Universe films, have combined their talents to bring Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths to the screen as a blockbuster tale of super heroes and super villains engaged in the ultimate battle of…

An odd surprise hit earlier this year was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which retells the Jane Austen story with the undead thrown in for good measure.  Lionsgate films will finance and distribute the film, but it’s Natalie Portman who is producing and starring. Portman will play feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet, who is distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy. As long as the movie isn’t as dog slow as the last Pride and Prejudice I was forced to watch a few years ago, I think it might actually work.…

The first film to employ true 3D graphics was The Last Starfighter from Universal Pictures.  For the teenage target audience, this was a perfect film as it focused on following your dreams instead of being satisfied with what life handed you. Alex Rogan is a small town teenager with big time dreams. Dreams of college… of success… of marrying his girlfriend, Maggie. He’s just like everybody else, except Alex has a very special talent… that no one on Earth can appreciate. But, tonight, a mysterious stranger has called on Alex. He’s come from a galaxy that’s under attack from an…

Disney sent two high resolution images for the upcoming Tron: Legacy movie that debuted in a smaller size a few days ago.  Tron is one of those movies, I remember seeing in the theaters and was always taken by the story and the early computer graphic attempts for the computer world.  28 years later, the CGI has certainly improved, and the sequel looks as slick as ever.

I’ve been a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 since they first debuted on HA!  I’m a big Joel fan and have had the pleasure of exchanging pleasantries with him on several occasions.  Joel and many of the other MST3K troupe have been going around the country doing live shows, and on December 16, 2009, they are releasing their first live DVD: Cinematic Titanic Live: East Meets Watts. via Cinematic Titanic

My roots come from the 3D animation world, which spilled over to the compositing world, which lead to writing, that eventually lead to Major Spoilers.  It’s a long story of getting from Point A to Point B, and it is a story that is about as long as it took Chris Jones to create The Passenger.  Eight years in the making, this seven minute animated short is an excellent example of what can happen if you keep you eye on the prize. Eight years… think about that.  If you want to know why it took so long, head over to…

One of the odd movies that I really dug as a nerdy high school science student was My Science Project, released under the Touchstone Pictures banner.  The 1985 sci-fi flick featured Michael (John Stockwell) and Ellie (Danielle von Zerneck) breaking into a military junkyard to find something for their school science experiment.  When they fall through a fall out shelter, they find the engine to a UFO that was hidden there since the 1950s.  One thing leads to another, and the duo, along with spaz Vince (Fisher Stevens) and science teacher Dennis Hopper end up turning the thing on.  The…
