I’ve picked up a few of the Mighty Mugg figures over the last year or so, and they are pretty neat. Hasbro has unveiled the latest X-Men Mighty Muggs featuring Wolverine, Sabertooth, Pheonix, and Cyclops. Of the four, I’ll probably pick up the Cyclops figure, as Jean Grey is just a little weird looking. via Hasbro

Oh, Baby! Now this is the stuff I want to see when I go to a comic book convention – all the new action figures coming down the pipe. Mattel always has a good booth showcasing its stuff, and if these images are an indication of what is to come, my wallet is going to by mighty thin by year’s end.
If there was one panel I would wait in line for at the New York Comic Con it would be this one.
The good news is, those 6-inch figures are being done by the same group that is doing the DC Universe Classic line, which means high quality sculpts with multiple points of articulation. Bonus ghost figures are nice, but I really want the first wave to be a build-a-figure Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. Press Release follows Culver City, Calif. – February 4, 2009 – Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Mattel, Inc. announced today the development of a new collectible line of toys based on the world’s favorite poltergeist fighting team, the Ghostbusters, including an extensive cast of ghosts and ghostbusters – celebrating…
I know these figures are quire popular, but they creep me out. Big hands, big feet, bad guys with smiles on their faces; it’s like some weird dream character come to life to stalk you in the men’s room. The Wolverine Movie Superhero Squad continues the “cute” character line with a new group of figures, including two of those ever ellusive TBD figures that are all the rage these days. 1x Battle at Three Mile Island 1x TBD 1x TBD 2x Messiah Complex Pack #3 (C ) 1x Uncanny X Men Pack #4 (A) (subject to change) via Entertainment Earth
Hasbro has announced the 3.75-inch Wolverine Animated figures to go along with the current cartoon series. If you purchase an entire case, here’s what you get: 2x Cyclops 3x TBD 1x Iceman 1x TBD 1x Avalanche 1x Beast 2x TBD 1x TBD (subject to change) The figures are expected to release in March 2009, although I’ve seen reports that the articulation on the figures is not that good. via Entertainment Earth
Forbidden Planet in the United Kingdom has nabbed some exclusive Doctor Who figures that feature William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, and Colin Baker. Unfortunately, these exclusive figures are only available outside the United States of America and Canada. Really? I bet those online auction sites would beg to differ. I wonder if Matthew has been good enough this year to land the Colin Baker figure for his birthday? Complete descriptions and pictures after the jump.
DC Comics has announced a new rush solicitation for the Hot Toys Superman Returns Jor-El Deluxe 1:6 Scale Collectors Figure that has the figure arriving in stores February 11. This spectacular 12-inch high figure is inspired by the appearance of Jor-El in the hit movie Superman Returns, and includes over 22 points of articulation, real-cloth jacket and pants colored glossy white, a display base with the Superman Returns logo and a Jor-El nameplate, and the authentic likeness of actor Marlon Brando. This is the first time the figure has been available in the U.S. and is in extremely limited supply. …
Sonofagun! For the last year, I’ve been faithfully saving my Anti-Monitor points from Mattel’s Infinite Heroes line. I was hoping it would lead up to a major reveal where toy fans could mail away for a humongous Anti-Monitor, or at least some special figure not found anywhere else. The good news is, there is a point to the point collecting, the bad thing is you HAVE to be at the San Diego Comic Con to cash them in. You can look forward to new reveals for DCUC, Infinite Heroes, JLU as well as Movie Masters and Batman Brave and the…
Mattel has announced it will host two fan panels at the New York Comic Con (Feb 6 – 8, 2009) that promises to unveil a lot of new products, and some show exclusives.
If you are wondering if newly anointed President Obama is soft on crime, just take a look at this freakin’ awesome action figure of number 44 as he fights Darth Vader, slashes the criminals with his dual katanas, and woos the ladies with his panty-dropping vocals. This is a Japanese figure, and while the main site is delivering up a classic 404 error when you click on the page (no doubt due to the throngs of devotees who are trying to buy three mint condition figures at the same time), it is a sure bet this figure will sell out…
