DC Comics has announced Aaron Lopresti has created a variant cover to Wonder Woman #26, by Gail Simone.
Following months of speculation over a new, male Wonder Woman and his fellow Manazons, WONDER WOMAN #26 puts the rumors to rest. In this issue, learn what horrific new threat Special Agent Diana Prince is unknowingly leading her team of agents against. And, at long last, the fate of the Amazons is revealed.
The issue is scheduled to be in stores on November 26, 2008.
DC has also announced it is publishing new editions of the Transmetropolitan trade paperbacks to meet demands of retailers. All the information about the new trades can be found after the jump.
The TRANSMETROPOLITAN VOL. 1: BACK ON THE STREET NEW EDITION TP now will include issues #1-6 of the original series, which were previously available in volumes 1 and 2 of the collected editions. It will be advance-solicited in the December Previews to arrive in stores in March.
Following that, the TRANSMETROPOLITAN VOL. 2: LUST FOR LIFE NEW EDITION TP now will include issue #7-12 of the original series; this title previously collected issues #4-12. It is scheduled to arrive in stores in May.
The TRANSMETROPOLITAN VOL. 3: YEAR OF THE BASTARD NEW EDITION TP now will include issues #13-18 of the series; this title previously collected these issues as well as a story from VERTIGO WINTER’S EDGE #2. It is scheduled to arrive in stores in August.
The TRANSMETROPOLITAN VOL. 4: THE NEW SCUM NEW EDITION TP now will include issues #19-24 of the series, as well as the story from VERTIGO WINTER’S EDGE #3 and the addition of the story from VERTIGO WINTER’S EDGE #2. In-store date for VOL. 4 will be announced later.
The TRANSMETROPOLITAN VOL. 10: ONE MORE TIME NEW EDITION TP now will include issues #55-60 of the series, as well as the Specials TRANSMETROPOLITAN: I HATE IT HERE and TRANSMETROPOLITAN: FILTH OF THE CITY. The specials were previously available in TRANSMETROPOLITAN VOL. 0: TALES OF HUMAN WASTE; This volume will no longer be available once current stock is gone. In-store date for VOL. 10 will be announced later.
The trades begin arriving in stores in March 2009. I’ve picked through the Transmetropolitan series here and there, but now that the 60 issue series is being streamlined, now may be the time to pick up the entire run.

Is that the Thorn???
Looks like Grace from The Outsiders…
NEWSFLASH: Just like that ‘pregnant man’ from a few months ago was just a transgendered chick who hadn’t had her ‘addadictomy’ operation yet, you can’t have a male Wonder Woman. And, while ‘Manazons’ is fun to say, it ain’t a good concept.
Gail needs to stick with the Secret Six.
Wow! Finally we have some equal treatment for the third of the big three. I think that’s some kick ass news.

Yes. It is important that we refute this concept months before the issue arrives.
We wouldn’t want a creator’s work to be judged on merit once we’ve actually seen it.
I never thought about it, but I guess it makes sense that Wonder Woman’s Doomsday, Genocide, is female. Huh. I guess the Secret Society of Villains figured hell hath no wrath like the scorn of a woman…
A male Wonder Woman? Um. I’m not a doctor, but wouldn’t that just be a Wonder Man?
