I think we pretty much knew El Gaucho would be part of the Batman, Inc. world domination initiative (or whatever Bruce Wayne is going to spin it to the stock holders), but also joining the lineup will be the Batman of Africa.
So far the world has
- Knight & Squire – England
- Mr. Unknown – Japan
- El Gaucho – Argentina
- Nightrunner – France
According to Grant Morrison, 2011 will see the introduction of the Batman of Africa, which makes me wonder why the (second) largest continent only needs one Batman… Wouldn’t it be better to have The Batman of Cape Town, The Batman of Egypt, and The Batman of Kenya?
“And waiting in the wings are team-ups with Chief-Man-of-Bats, Batgirl and a mind-blowing CGI adventure with Oracle, as piece by piece, we learn the secrets of Batman Inc. and find out what Bruce is REALLY up to!”

Maybe there are Batmen of Egypt, Cape Town and Kenya. But they are like Robin, Red Robin (yum!) and Nightwing. They are the extended family of the big Batman of Africa.
Why do I have a feeling that Batman of Africa will go by the name Anansi?
Pretty sure the name was already used for a JLA “villain”, he was the one who powered Vixen’s totem or something to that effect, we saw cowboy Bruce Wayne in that story if I recall correctly.
“what Bruce Wayne is REALLY up to!” Yet another Grant Morrison plot within a plot within a plot within a plot which is really just a cover to another plot.
How long before we see the Batman of Nixa, Missouri?
That is scheduled for May 08, 2021
Pssst, Stephen. Asia is bigger than Africa.
I do agree that if North America has as many Bat-Family members as it does, the other continents should have a few each.
oh, what’s 5 million square miles between friends anyway?
I read that as El Guapo for some reason.
Oh man, Inc just keeps getting sillier and sillier. And i thought Peacock was bad…
I want to see Uncle Batman and the lieutenant Batmen.
and Batbunny.
I wouldn’t mind so much if they just became part of a world wide organisation under Batman, but my buddy told me that they actually dump their superhero identities to dress as Batman, that’s just wrong…
