When my kid was very young, we got them a DVD that contained three Peanuts TV specials: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas. And to this day, even though we still have it (and working DVD players all over the house), we still tune in to the network broadcasts of the things as part of our holiday ritual. It’s not really Halloween until the ghost gets a rock, and it’ll never be November if we can’t see Snoopy fixing a feast of popcorn, buttered toast, jellybeans, and an inconsistent number of ice cream sundaes. Maybe it’s my Generation X upbringing showing, but you can’t have fall without a beagle fighting a deck chair, leading to today’s November-should-still-be-the-ninth-month query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) also has a very strong November feeling from Ray Bradbury’s The Halloween Tree, asking: What bits of pop culture do you associate with November?

As an American who hadn’t heard of Guy Fawkes before Alan Moore, I’ll say V For Vendetta, because I “remember, remember.”
This is pretty tough. Usually, I associate end of the year to Star Wars, not even sure why. At least I don’t associate it to May, that’s for sure. This year I feel like I’m bit early in my SW nostalgia, so I’ll say that.
