My recent questions about cartoon ducks got me to thinking: There are a lot of ducks in the funny animal stories of the world. Bunnies also make up a large number of protagonists, as do frogs and the occasional bird, though the exact species tends to vary. Elephants are also seen a lot, and are possibly inherently funny due to their trunks and their stature, and bears get a lot of play, even though they’re actually able to eat humans in real life, leading to today’s taxonomical query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) likes platypuses, because the name is funny, asking: What species makes the most amusing funny animal?

I would have to say the puffer fish, or blowfish, not least because they’re deadly. But they’re also aposematic, which is always good humor value. Did you know that you can also choke on them if they puff up while in your throat? It’s made for cartoons.
Koala bears. Silly looking and slow. That’s a lot of material right there.
Squirrels are naturally funny, because they are so hyperactive. They also have big, puffy tails for extra amusement.
