A couple of years ago, the dinosaur kid in me was thrilled to learn that the name ‘Brontosaurus’ was back in use (by some researchers, anyway) as a distinct genus of dinosaur, separate from the Apatosaurus. ‘Course, I was somewhat bemused to find that the reclassification actually took place LOOONG before anyone in the house was born (heck, even before my GRANDPARENTS were born) as Brontosaurus was actually reclassified in 1903! Personally, I blame The Flintstones, and also the fact that brontosaurus is objectively a better name, but I’m in the mood for talking sauropods today. Be aware that house DM Rodrigo might arrive to point out things that aren’t actually dinosaurs at all, leading us to today’s fossilized query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) will always bow to the will of seven-year-old me, who couldn’t exactly pronounce ‘Triceratops’, but was 100% certain it was the best, asking: Which of all the dinosaurs has the absolute coolest dinosaur name?

So glad Brontosaurus is back. And that means Brontosaurus Burgers are back, too!
Brontosaurus was out for a while?! Great to hear its back. Does MechaGodzilla count?
While I’m not sure it occupies the top slot of favorite dinosaur for me, it’s hard to argue that Tyrannosaurus Rex isn’t the most badass thing you could name a giant meat-eating bird-lizard.
