From their very first appearance, the foursome of Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo and Donatello have captured the imaginations of ninja fans, teenage enthusiasts and terrapin aficionados around the world. Each has their own strength, be it leading, doing machines, cool but ruding or party duding, and each has their own signature weapon to get the job done. Of course, sometimes, that can be confusing: While my instincts say Raphael’s red mask is coolest, I gravitate towards Mikey’s nunchakus as fave-rave weapon, while Leo’s interactions seem most admirable in a group setting. Indeed, it’s hard to pick one of turtle who is numero uno, but that’s why we do what we do here, leading to today’s ninjitsu query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) knows, on a gut level, that the answer is and will always be Raphael, not only for “my favorite” but for “Which one are you?”, asking: Which of those Turtle Boys is the top of the terrapin heap?

As a kid, Leonardo, because he’s the only one with actual functional, useful weapons. Rest got improvised farm tools or not even sharpened dagger designed for self defense. Now, the smart science type, Donatello.
It changes depending on incarnation, but for the most part it is a fairly even split between Raph and Mikey,
Raphael may be short-tempered and stubborn, but he usually has a valid reason as he is a very skilled fighter (and possibly the most skilled of the four, with Leo often besting him simply by taking advantage of his short temper). But beneath all that, he is still a being who cares deeply about his brothers and friends, even if he never says it.
Michelangelo is not just a goofball, he is the glue that holds the brothers together in spite of their conflicting personalities. He’s also brilliant in his own way, keeping his and his brother’s thoughts on the positive side, which can be the difference between giving up in defeat or fighting on even when things seem hopeless.
Hands down, it’s Donatello.
It’s always been Raphael for me. He has a short temper because he wears his heart on his sleeve and cares deeply for family but doesn’t want to show he does.
None of them because my heart is already taken.
The toilet’s not your fate, friend!
You’ll always run free.
